Kelly Boy Delima Ohana

Widely known as a founding father of island music, Kelly Boy Delima has undoubtedly earned a reputation as one of the best ukulele players to come out of Hawaii.  In addition to releasing 17 albums with his band “Kapena,” Delima has also performed throughout the United States and the South Pacific.  His solo album, “Jus' Kelly Boy,” which features remakes of golden oldies as well as original compositions, was nominated in 1999 for the distinguished Na Hoku Hanohano award in the "Island Contemporary Album of the Year” category.  His musical gifts extend to his son, Pena Boy, and his daughter Kaulana, who lend their musical and vocal talents to the Kelly DeLima Ohana. 

Nohelani Cypriano

Recognized worldwide as one of Hawaii’s most gifted performers, Cypriano mesmerizes audiences at the hotel’s enchanting Banyan Court. Cypriano has traveled the world sharing Hawaiian contemporary music as a vocalist, keyboard player and composer.  She has recorded 12 CDs and has received Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for “Best Female Vocalist and “Contemporary Album of the Year,” as well as Hawaii Music Awards’ “Entertainers of the Year” while with a quartet of female vocalists called the “Local Divas.”  

Ka’ala Boys

Widely recognized as one of the leading reggae bands on the island, the Ka’ala Boy’s sounds of light Hawaiian music make listeners want to grab a shave ice and head for the beach. The Ka’ala Boys have released four albums to date. 

Darrell Aquino

Kailua born musical director, songwriter, bassist, and vocalist Darrell Aquino is widely recognized for his role as the driving force in the Hawaiian rock band “Sugahdaddy,” which blends contemporary island sounds with a funky touch of rock n’ roll.  Sugahdaddy’s latest album, “Under A Native Moon” recently won “Rock Album of the Year” at the 2005 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards as well as placing first in the “rock” category at the 8th Annual Hawaii Music Awards.   

Johnny Kamai

A multi-faceted guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and record producer, Johnny Kamai is most well known as the lead guitarist and lead vocalist (along with Ben Vegas) for the Hawaiian band 5:05 as well as his imaginative lyrics and original compositions.  After making a name for himself as a solo artist, Kamai went on to win “Best Recording by a Gospel Artist” at the 1998 Hawaii Music Awards. 

Ryan Tang

Bassist Ryan Tang has been involved in the local entertainment scene for many years.  Along with Ledward Kaapana and Alika Odom, Tang won a Na Hoku Hanohano Award for “Contemporary Hawaiian Album of the Year” in 1986 for his part in the hit album “Ledward Kaapana and I Kona.”

Sam Kapu III Trio

Born into a forth generation of Hawaiian musicians, it is no surprise that Sam Kapu III has successfully continued the musical legacy of his family.  Kapu, who began singing and playing the ukulele at age seven, is known for his upbeat, contemporary Hawaiian tunes.  His first album “Sam Kapu III,” released on Bluewater Records, gained notoriety when it was nominated for two Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in 1994.  Kapu’s latest CD “Lineage,” which pays homage to his very talented family, was nominated for “Best Hawaiian Album of the Year” at the 2003 Hawaii music awards.

Johnny & Yvette

Raised in the beautiful island state of Hawaii, John Valentine has spent most of his life entertaining in the heart of Waikiki. Valentine’s new release, The Power of Two, features him with the up and coming Yvette Nii. A former Miss Oahu, her sweet vocal sound is a perfect compliment to his dynamic vocal and guitar styling.

Owana Salazar

A singer, slack key and steel guitairist, Salazar’s interpretation of Hawaiian classics, traditional and contemporary music and jazz standards, reflects her ancestry and upbringing in knowledge and culture. Her first recording in 1986, “Owana and Ka`ipo, In Kona” was final ballot nominee in the category of Most Promising Artist in the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, an island music industry salute. Her most recent album, “Hula Jazz” won a Na Hoku Hanohano Award in 2005 for Best Jazz Album.

Kalena

Newly formed Kalena pulls influences from all types of music. Dennis Grau plays keyboard while Stan Albrecht plays guitar. They got their name, Kalena, from a song called Kalena Kai.

Ka Moana Duo

Bill Tau and Keone formed the Ka Moana Duo in 2004. The duo plays guitar and bass and counts the The Kahuanu Lake Trio as their musical influence. Ka Moana means “the Moana.”

Ka Moana Trio

Formed in 1995, this trio consists of Bill Tau (guitar), Isic Akuna (steel guitar and ukulele) and Wayne Shishido (guitar).
