Hiro Itoh, CMP is the Director of Catering & Convention Services for the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Originally born in Fukuoka Japan, he moved to New York City at an early age, and finally found his home here in Hawaii where he has resided for most of his life. He combines the talents of many cultures and destinations in his life-long strive towards excellence. Hiro who is fluent in both English & Japanese, began his career in the hospitality industry, working for various Japanese Tour & Travel agencies handling large group tours, VIP’s, and celebrities, until 2001 when he decided to make a career change and embark on his journey with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii working at the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Hiro currently leads the Catering & Convention Services department at the resort and loves his work. In 2006, Hiro became certified as a CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) by the Convention Industry Council. This feat only shows the lengths to which Hiro will go to perfect his profession. Hiro understands what it takes to make the guests happy by taking his time and offering each and every guest his personalized special attention. “Perfection is my standard, nothing is too much to ask or too hard to accomplish…I always love a challenge and am willing to grab it by the horns.” With these high standards, there are no limits to what Hiro can accomplish.
