Westin Kids Club
WAIKIKI BEACH, OAHU, HAWAII – Keiki (children) ages five to 12 staying at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort, are invited to discover fun in Hawaii through dance, arts and crafts, games, food, storytelling, excursions and cultural activities. The hotel’s Westin Kids Club (WKC) captivates children’s imagination with a daily program of scheduled on-site and off-site learning experiences that enable parents to enjoy some private time while the little ones embark on their own adventure.

A few of the featured WKC experiences at Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort include:

Discovery Tours

Keiki will discover Hawaii’s volcanoes, oceans and unique environment at Bishop Museum, agriculture and plantation history at the Dole Plantation, and marine life from the tropical Pacific at the Waikiki Aquarium. They also have the opportunity to go on an expedition to the Honolulu Zoo where they’ll encounter a variety of animals from African savannahs and tropical rainforests. In the evening, the kids are given flashlights for the nighttime gecko (lizard) hunt.

Taste Adventure

Kids get the exciting opportunity to try local food and learn about how it is made with a food

demonstration or a cooking class. One of the taste adventures features local favorite hurricane popcorn, a buttery explosion topped with toasted rice cracker and seasoned seaweed bits. In another fun activity combining discovery and taste, keiki get to combine their favorite flavors to make their own cool ice cream sundaes.

Westin Kids Workout

Whether its golf or dance lessons, kids will be excited and energized by the selected activity of the day, such as 3D glow golf tournaments, surfing safari lessons, Olympic beach games, or kite flying at Kapiolani Park.

Local Vocal

Children will experience the local music, language and storytelling of Hawaii, with live performances and visits from local performers. On select evenings, the kids will head down to Kuhio Beach Park for the torch lighting ceremony and hula show.

Photo Adventure

Children will receive a special tour of the resort that offers them an opportunity to create their own memories by taking photos with a complimentary disposable camera. They will also have the opportunity to capture moments on film during their other WKC activities—a catamaran sail to Diamond Head, Honolulu Zoo expedition, kite flying at Kapiolani Park, and many more.

Stargazing

While sitting under the Hawaiian sky, keiki will learn why the islands are prime viewing grounds for stargazing and how ancient Polynesian voyagers used celestial navigation, astronomy, animal behavior, and local legends. They will also learn how to spot constellations, planets and bright shooting stars.

Arts and Crafts

Keiki can create their own souvenirs through WKC’s arts and crafts classes including petroglyph art, Hawaiian bookmarks, sand art, lei making and shell picture frames.

The WKC is offered seven days a week and features six on-site programs along with off-site trips organized on a daily activity calendar so that families can schedule their time accordingly. The daily program is held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes lunch, and the night program is held from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. (July 1 – August 31 only). WKC rates are $70 for Kid’s Club Full Day, $50 for Kid’s Club Half Day and $45 for Kid’s Club Evening.
